Seasoned professional Mark Wouters to join Chedi Hegra as General Manager

The Chedi Hegra has appointed Mark Wouters as its new General Manager, welcoming a seasoned international hotelier to one of the region’s most culturally significant and eagerly anticipated destinations.

Located within Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Chedi Hegra blends heritage with contemporary luxury. Wouters’ appointment underscores the brand’s commitment to offering guests a culturally immersive and refined experience in one of the Kingdom’s most extraordinary settings.

With more than 20 years of international experience across Europe, Asia, and Oceania, Wouters brings a wealth of expertise in pre-openings, brand development, and the positioning of ultra-luxury properties. His career highlights include senior roles at leading hotels in China, including flagship properties in Shanghai, as well as his pivotal role in launching The PuXuan Hotel and Spa in Beijing, now recognized as one of the city’s premier luxury addresses.

Earlier, Wouters built his foundation in ultra-luxury hospitality through positions with globally acclaimed brands such as Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and Huka Lodge in New Zealand, where he honed a strong service culture.

In his new role, Wouters will oversee all operations at The Chedi Hegra, focusing on delivering a guest experience that is intuitive, sophisticated, and respectful of its historic surroundings.
