Saudi Arabia: Diriyah announces launch of corridor linking with King Saud University
Diriyah Company has announced the
launch of Grand Avenue, a 1.9-kilometer main spine within its mega development
in the historic city of Diriyah.
The project was revealed during MIPIM
2026 in France and will serve as a new cultural and retail corridor linking
Diriyah with King Saud University. The
avenue will feature a mix of landmark attractions, hotels, offices, retail
outlets, and residential spaces.
Designed as a vibrant pedestrian
boulevard, Grand Avenue will connect the historic Diriyah district with King
Saud University, creating a dynamic link between culture, education, tourism,
and commerce.
The development aligns with the
broader vision led by Mohammed bin Salman to create integrated districts that
combine heritage, innovation, and economic growth.

Grand Avenue is planned as a lively
destination offering retail, dining, and lifestyle experiences. Its
architecture will reflect the traditional Najdi style, preserving the historic
character of Diriyah while supporting modern urban development.
By directly connecting Diriyah with
King Saud University, the project will bring together one of Saudi Arabia’s
leading cultural tourism destinations with a major academic institution,
strengthening the area’s cultural and economic appeal.
The wider Diriyah development, led
by Diriyah Company, represents an investment of more than $60 billion and aims
to position the historic area as one of the world’s premier cultural and
