National Transformation Program propels Vision 2030 forward, Affirms CEO

34 out of its 96 objectives of National Transformation Plan have already been achieved
 

National Transformation Program advancing Saudi Vision 2030  

The National Transformation Program (NTP) of Saudi Arabia, the pioneering initiative of Vision 2030, has been instrumental in advancing the Kingdom’s mission, with 34 out of its 96 objectives already achieved, according to its CEO.

In an interview on the sidelines of the Global Project Management Forum 2024 in Riyadh, Thamer Al-Saadoun, the head of NTP, shared insights about the program launched in mid-2016.

The national program is dedicated to realizing strategic objectives aimed at propelling Saudi Arabia to the forefront of nations. This encompasses empowering the private sector, enhancing governmental excellence, fostering economic partnerships, and accelerating the Kingdom’s digital transformation.

“The program serves as the cornerstone of the 11 different vision realization programs. It represents the convergence of efforts towards the ambitious vision,” he elucidated.

Al-Saadoun elaborated on the extensive scope of the NTP, stating: “We oversee more than 300 initiatives, 79 KPIs, both local and international, collaborating with numerous ministries. Presently, over 50 government entities are engaged in the program, driving initiatives to meet the set targets.”

Reflecting on the program’s achievements, he underscored success across diverse sectors: “Judging by last year’s outcomes, the program has made remarkable strides on multiple fronts.”

The CEO highlighted significant milestones, including advancements in gender equality and the early realization of Vision 2030 targets.

He cited notable progress in environmental initiatives, the expansion of the nonprofit sector, and the empowerment of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Moreover, he emphasized the surge in foreign investment, with more than 200 companies annually obtaining licenses to establish headquarters in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, he commended the country’s leadership in e-government and the digital economy.

Regarding the GPMF, Al-Saadoun emphasized its global significance and personal value: “This forum is among the most pivotal globally, and I am committed to its attendance annually for the invaluable insights it offers.”

He added: “It convenes diverse experts and sectors, facilitating knowledge exchange and collaboration. The impact is profound, especially in Saudi Arabia, with the multitude of ongoing projects.”

Saudi Vision 2030, an ambitious blueprint to transform the Kingdom across various domains, has made substantial progress since its inception. Al-Saadoun lauded its achievements as one of the most remarkable success stories.

“It’s an ambitious plan, aiming to overhaul a country like Saudi Arabia comprehensively. Over the past seven years, it has delivered significant successes,” he remarked.

Identifying key factors behind this success, Al-Saadoun attributed it first to steadfast leadership support.

Collaboration and change management were also deemed crucial: “In a vision of this magnitude, ensuring collaboration across ministries and organizations is imperative,” emphasized the CEO.

He added that capacity building has been pivotal, with forums like the GPMF playing a vital role.

“What transpires in this forum is pivotal for capacity building, ensuring that individuals involved in executing the vision possess the requisite skill sets. We are fortunate to have many young Saudi men and women leading the charge in implementing the vision,” he remarked.

Execution focus emerged as another critical element: “While we devise excellent plans across the various vision realization programs, prioritizing execution has been paramount. We dedicate significant time and effort to executing our plans effectively.”

Al-Saadoun expressed optimism for the future, affirming continued progress: “We are pleased with our achievements thus far, and the trajectory is only upward. We aspire to accomplish even more in the years ahead,” he concluded.
