Saudi Arabia: Digital Identity Service and passport stamp launched for foreign Haj pilgrims
The Saudi Ministry of Interior has introduced a new digital
identity service for pilgrims arriving on Haj visas for the current season
(year 1445 AH). This initiative is part of the government's ongoing efforts to
advance digital transformation and leverage technology in alignment with Saudi
Vision 2030.
Developed in collaboration with the Ministries of Foreign
Affairs and Haj and Umrah, along with the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA),
the digital identity service allows pilgrims to verify their identity
electronically through the Absher and Tawakkalna platforms. This service aims
to streamline the pilgrims' journey, enhance the quality of services, and
improve their overall experience.
