Kuwait
In a significant development, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
has officially given the green light to the railway linkage project with the
State of Kuwait.
This crucial agreement received approval during a cabinet
meeting held in NEOM city, presided over by Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman
bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.
Kuwait has already issued a tender for the study and design
of the initial phase of the 565-kilometre Kuwait Railway Project. This project
encompasses a Gulf track, a commercial track, and an economic track.
Egis
consortium to assess safety for key Neom rail projects
Previously, the Saudi Council of Ministers had granted
authority to the Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, or their
designated representative, to engage in discussions with their Kuwaiti
counterparts regarding the draft agreement.
This agreement underscores the significance of the railway
connection initiative between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of
Kuwait.
