Saudi Crown Prince emphasizes feasibility of THE LINE in NEOM

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, is determined to silence the skeptics and reaffirm the Kingdom's commitment to ambitious megaprojects, particularly THE LINE in NEOM.

In a recent statement, the Crown Prince expressed confidence in Saudi Arabia's ability to bring its visionary projects to fruition, dismissing doubts and criticisms that label them as overly ambitious or unattainable.

THE LINE, a groundbreaking megaproject situated within NEOM's $500 billion initiative, aims to create a revolutionary 170-kilometer-long vertical interconnected city. Designed to accommodate up to 10 million residents, THE LINE is set to become an exemplary model of sustainability, boasting a car-free environment, zero carbon emissions, complete reliance on clean energy, and operation driven by artificial intelligence.

Construction on the colossal site began in April 2022, with the Hidden Marina district scheduled to welcome its first residents and visitors by or before 2030. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman presented the visionary designs of THE LINE in NEOM on July 25, 2022, showcasing the innovative features and futuristic aesthetics that will characterize the city.

The Crown Prince, emphasizing the integration of art and engineering, stated, "Engineering and design is not enough without art. We don't want to create a city without having the whole city as a piece of art." By embracing a top-down approach, THE LINE aims to transcend conventional problem-solving models employed in cities worldwide, facilitating the creation of a truly expansive and extraordinary urban space.

NEOM, the wider development encompassing THE LINE, represents one of the world's most ambitious sustainable urban projects. Upon completion, NEOM will boast smart towns, ports, research hubs, sports and entertainment venues, and tourism centers, all contributing to a futuristic and environmentally conscious society.

"We have the cash. We have the land. We have the stability. We have a good infrastructure. We are a G20 country. We want to create a new civilization for tomorrow and encourage other nations to pursue similar endeavors for a better planet," proclaimed the Crown Prince, emphasizing Saudi Arabia's readiness to embark on this transformative journey.
