Saudi Arabia's AlUla to host Desert Blaze 2025 next month
Think the summer heat is intense? AlUla Desert Blaze 2025 is here to turn up
the temperature—literally. Back this August, the thrilling endurance event
invites runners to take on one of the most extreme desert challenges in the
region, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of AlUla’s UNESCO World
Heritage sites.
Blaze Your
Trail Through History
Launched in 2023, AlUla Desert Blaze is the
first event of its kind in the historic city. Runners from around the world
will compete across four distances:

5km
·
10km
·
21.1km (half
marathon)
·
42.2km (full
marathon)
Participants must be 16+ for the 5km
and 10km races, and 18+ for the half and full marathons.

Expect scorching temperatures—up to 45°C during
the day—so breathable gear, sun protection, and grit are essential. Evenings
cool slightly, with temps dropping to between 25°C and 30°C.

Friday, August 15, 6pm–9pm at AlFursan Village
The official race route will be revealed
closer to the event, but runners can expect to blaze through AlUla’s ancient
landscapes and dramatic desert terrain.
